Fat bike, full bags and the long way round. Red dirt, alpine fire trails and everything between.
On the bike
The long way round
I started bicycle touring at nine, on a BMX, with my brother, who was 14. From 2010 my tours often towed a cargo trailer with solar panels. In 2012 I moved to a Koga Signature touring bike, and these days it’s a black fat bike with a belt drive, a full frame bag and rear panniers.
The fat tyres float over sand and mud that would stop a touring bike dead, which opens up a lot of country: outback tracks in the Northern Territory and Queensland, and the steep fire trails of the Victorian Alps.

Phone · tilt to steerStay On
Hold your phone like handlebars and keep a loaded touring bike upright past magpies, roos, dogs and road trains. It uses your phone’s tilt sensor, so it opens on its own page.
